ABB Launches New Generation Gas Chromatograph GCP100, Driving Industrial Gas Analysis Innovation with Digitalization and AI 10 / 10 / 2025

As a global leader in process automation and industrial analysis technology, ABB has accumulated over 60 years of experience in gas chromatography, continuously providing real-time, reliable gas analysis solutions for process industries such as natural gas, biogas, oil, and petrochemicals. With growing industrial demands for data accuracy, energy efficiency, and intelligent operations, ABB is committed to redefining the standards for process gas analysis through technological innovation, driving the industry toward greater efficiency and sustainability.

Recently, ABB officially launched the new generation gas chromatograph, GCP100, as the core product of its全新的 GCPro series. The GCP100 integrates advanced gas chromatography technology with digital innovations, aiming to achieve high-precision real-time analysis of complex gas mixtures. It helps plant operators monitor process stability and product quality in real time, thereby significantly enhancing operational efficiency while ensuring safety.

The equipment features several breakthrough design characteristics: its modular structure supports operation across a wide temperature range (60°C to 100°C) and achieves detection precision at ppm levels. Equipped with a 4-inch gesture-control touchscreen and dynamic QR code technology, combined with an AI-assisted system, it can substantially reduce maintenance-related downtime by up to 75%. Additionally, the GCP100 excels in energy efficiency, with a design power consumption of only 12 watts, helping users achieve energy-saving and carbon reduction goals.

The GCP100 not only enhances the hardware performance of process analysis but also promotes a transformation in operational models through deep hardware-software integration. The system is equipped with ABB's self-developed MyMeasurement Assistant+ and ABB Ability™ Genix Copilot, enabling operators to access device documentation, fault codes, and spare parts information in real time. This facilitates efficient diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and integrated operational monitoring of equipment status.

In terms of installation and operational costs, the GCP100 utilizes a more compact shelter/adapter solution and, in some scenarios, eliminates the need for an additional protective enclosure. This significantly reduces dependency on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and lowers associated costs. This design not only effectively reduces initial capital investment but also results in a lower total cost of ownership compared to other gas chromatography solutions.

ABB stated that the launch of the GCP100 marks a significant step in the company's efforts to build a new paradigm for the future of industrial gas analysis. Moving forward, ABB will continue to leverage the GCPro series as a foundation to advance process analysis technology toward smarter and more sustainable development.
