Interface Overview

The GP2500-TC41-24V, manufactured by Xycom/Pro-face, is a 10.4-inch touchpanel human-machine interface (HMI). This color TFT unit has a user-replaceable CCFL backlight and a 1024 x 1024 analog resistive film touch panel. The TFT-type LCD has a resolution of 640 by 480 and offers greater visual clarity and brightness over other types of LCDs, such as STNs. This allows the operator to have a clear vision of the information being displayed, even if the lighting or viewing angle is poor.

The unit has an Ethernet port, a CF card slot, along with serial interfaces for RS232C/RS422. Pinout charts are offered within associated manuals and user guides.

Specification

The GP2500-TC41-24V uses a 24 VDC input. It has 4 MB of Flash EPROM application memory along with 256 KB of backup memory which uses the lithium battery. For this reason, it is recommended to keep an additional backup of any important data in case of an unexpected system failure which compromises the battery.

The GP2500-TC41-24V is rated for use between temperatures of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius, and should not be operated beyond these limits. The unit uses natural air cooling to remain at a proper operating temperature. This relies heavily on proper installation where the unit has been placed far enough away from other heat-creating devices.
