At the recently held China International Import Expo (CIIE) in the Technical Equipment exhibition area, three multinational industry leaders from Shanghai's Jinqiao Development Zone—Omron, Emerson, and Rockwell Automation—took the stage together. They collectively presented their globally debut products and groundbreaking industry solutions in the fields of digitalization, intelligence, and green transformation. Having participated for many consecutive years as consistent or veteran exhibitors, these companies not only demonstrated their long-term commitment to the Chinese market but also served as a significant window into observing the cutting-edge achievements of China's smart manufacturing and its localization innovation strategies.
Deep Roots in China for Decades, with Localization Strategy Continuously Advancing
As representatives of foreign enterprises that entered China relatively early following the reform and opening-up, Omron, Emerson, and Rockwell Automation have all been developing in China for decades. Among them, Emerson entered China in 1979, established a factory in Pudong in 1993, and recently upgraded its Shanghai Jinqiao plant to its China headquarters, highlighting its strategic resolve of "In China, For China." Over the years, the three companies have continuously invested in R&D and production localization, establishing multiple manufacturing bases, R&D centers, and systems engineering centers. They have deeply participated in and propelled China's industrial automation and digital transformation process.
Debut Products Take Center Stage, Focusing on AI, Traceability, and Zero-Carbon Tools
At this year's CIIE, all three companies brought heavyweight debut technologies and solutions:

From Technology Export to Ecosystem Co-creation, Driving Industry Collaboration and Green Transformation
The three companies unanimously emphasized a role shift from "equipment supplier" to "value co-creator." Emerson advocates linking industry partners through an open ecosystem; Rockwell, through its "CFC Selected Quality Products + CG Shared Intelligent Manufacturing" model, assists industrial clusters in integrating into the global value chain. Their released zero-carbon assessment tools and digital transformation solutions directly address the development bottlenecks of greening and collaboration for parks and enterprises, aiming to scale point innovations into industry-level applications.
Rockwell Automation President Shi An stated that the company would leverage the "spillover effect" of CIIE to unite ecosystem partners in promoting the scaled and globalized development of manufacturing. Emerson China President Andy Wang also pointed out that the company will continue to increase its investment in China, using advanced technology and global operational experience to help more Chinese clients reach the international stage.
Omron's high-speed traceability, Emerson's industrial AI applications, and Rockwell's zero-carbon digital tools collectively outline the of smart manufacturing in improving quality, enhancing efficiency, and reducing emissions. The showcase by these three representative "Jinqiao Intelligent Manufacturing" enterprises not only reflects the deep localization and innovative vitality of foreign companies in the Chinese market but also provides practical technological pathways and cooperative paradigms for Chinese manufacturing to move towards high-end, intelligent, and green development.
