Against the backdrop of rapidly changing global economics and ever-evolving technology, startups are playing an increasingly pivotal role in driving industry innovation, enhancing customer competitiveness, and achieving sustainable development. To further strengthen collaboration with startups and jointly tackle global challenges, Siemens announced a new initiative named "Siemens for Startups" at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025) held in Las Vegas on January 8, 2025.
The "Siemens for Startups" initiative launched by Siemens aims to support early-stage engineering and manufacturing startups by accelerating their innovation processes and helping them scale faster through venture capital-related services, streamlined development processes, and reduced costs for using Siemens software and hardware. The initiative comprises three pillars: Connect, Collaborate, and Empower.
In terms of "Connect," Siemens provides startups with access to the Siemens Xcelerator marketplace, enabling them to integrate into the Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem and connect with partners from various fields, including technology suppliers, system integrators, and service providers. This facilitates easier access to potential customers, investors, and strategic partners.
Regarding "Collaborate," Siemens engages in deep collaboration with startups as early-stage customers and co-developers, creating significant early revenue streams for them and assisting them in obtaining necessary certifications and support to ensure their products and services can smoothly enter the market.
Under the "Empower" pillar, Siemens provides startups with necessary resources and technical support, granting them packaged access to Siemens Xcelerator's essential software tools. This accelerates product development and enhances product quality.
To further enhance the effectiveness of the "Siemens for Startups" initiative, Siemens has established a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Together, they aim to accelerate the innovation pace of startups, streamline their development processes, and help them expand their businesses more rapidly. Siemens integrates its full suite of industrial software onto AWS's scalable cloud platform, enabling startups to leverage advanced software, generative artificial intelligence (AI), and other cloud services to realize their ideas. Additionally, eligible startups can enjoy a range of incentive measures provided by AWS.
Furthermore, the "Siemens for Startups" initiative has attracted the participation of several outstanding startups, such as Arkisys, Dirac, EthonAI, and Haddy. These companies demonstrate significant innovation potential and market value in areas such as commercial space platforms, automated manufacturing workflow software, manufacturing analytics systems, and advanced 3D printing and robotics technologies. Through collaboration with Siemens, these startups have accelerated their product development timelines, better met market demands, and are poised to make significant breakthroughs in the coming years.
The "Siemens for Startups" initiative launched by Siemens is not only a support measure for startups but also a commitment by the company to the future development of industry. Through in-depth collaboration with startups, Siemens hopes to maintain its own innovation capabilities and inject fresh blood into the entire industry. With the increasing participation of outstanding startups and the emergence of collaborative achievements, we have reason to believe that the "Siemens for Startups" initiative will lead to more exciting technological innovations and societal advancements.
